Reebok is linking up with none other than EBONY Cover Star Tobe Nwigwe for a game-changing collab that’s about to shake up the sneaker and streetwear world. The Reebok x Chukwu collection drops today, at 10 AM ET, exclusively on Reebok.com and select retailers, bringing Nwigwe’s unmistakable style and Nigerian American heritage to the brand’s athletic legacy.
“This is monumental—it’s my first time designing a shoe and an apparel capsule with a major brand,” Nwigwe shared. “I’m creating something that truly reflects my style, vision and perspective.”
For his debut collection, The Preseason, Nwigwe reworks classic sportswear silhouettes, headlined by the Chukwu OTU ($200), a bold remix of the iconic Reebok Preseason Turf Trainer. “I chose the Preseason because it’s an immaculate silhouette—simple, yet iconic,” he explained. “It represents hard work and excellence, which made it the perfect shoe to launch my own journey.” Featuring a mix of textile, hairy suede, and nubuck leather, the OTU—meaning “One” in Igbo—symbolizes Nwigwe’s dual identity as a first-generation Nigerian American.
Beyond sneakers, the collection serves up gender-neutral, game-inspired apparel ($60–$250) in Nwigwe’s signature mint green and black. Standout pieces include a coaches jacket with intricate embroidery, a football jersey repping the number 88 (a tribute to his wife Fat and their five kids), a graphic hoodie, zip-off linen pants and a sherpa-lined sideline jacket.
“Every detail, every element, works together to create something intricate yet effortless—a reflection of my design philosophy: complex simplicity,” Nwigwe said.
