Days before stars poured into the Dolby Theatre for the 97th Academy Awards ceremony, Black Hollywood descended upon Laya Restaurant for the MACRO’s 7th Annual Pre-Oscars Party, and it was a celebration not to be missed.

Hosted by MACRO founder and CEO Charles D. King and Stacey Walker King, the beautiful and festive gathering is a highly coveted invite and a must-attend event during the award season.

Along with Aldis Hodge, whose biceps have become a household name thanks to the tight grey sweater he sported in Prime Video’s Cross, guests showed up in full force. That included Kelly Rowland, who was double-dipped in burgundy-hued leather.

Our 2024 EBONY Power 100 Pathbreaker honoree Cynthia Erivo also made an appearance.

MACRO’s official beauty partner Sephora brought the Sephora Beauty Wall to life featuring Black-owned beauty brands. Starbucks provided custom drinks and espresso martinis, along with curated bites. Guests enjoyed two DJ sets, which provided the night’s festive vibe.

Bevy Smith and WeightWatchers hosted an intimate dinner in honor of Cynthia Bailey at the Thompson Hotel in Atlanta. The evening’s conversation centered around Black women’s health and wellness journeys: the highs, the lows and everything in between. WeightWatchers announced a donation of $5,000 gift cards from Nourish + Bloom Market. This Black-owned business is revolutionizing how people access fresh, healthy food in Atlanta.
