Chaos ensures after a flag is planted on the Tar Heels logo following NC State’s victory against UNC Saturday night.
Thanksgiving weekend always brings entertainment in the form of college football’s greatest rivalries. The Noon kickoff started with #2 ranked Ohio State University taking on unranked current national champions Michigan. After a string of losses in “The Game,” OSU entered the game 19-point favorites. Unfortunately, Ryan Day and OSU couldn’t finish the job and lost 13-10.
After the game, Michigan attempted to plant its flag at midfield, and chaos broke loose. Police brought out the pepper spray to restore order even spraying several players.
Later in the day, the University of Florida put Florida State down like Old Yeller to end their disastrous two-win season. While Florida tried to plant their flag Florida State players wanted no part of the winning gesture. After such a horrible season Florida State shouldn’t have an issue with a flag being planted.
However, beating a lifeless Florida State team might not deserve a flag-planting either.
According to MSN, after a two-yard score with seconds left the NC State Wolfpack pulled off a stunning victory over North Carolina. Following the 35-30 win over the Tar Heels we saw yet another flag-planting attempt, this time by the Wolfpack.
This one turned into an on-field melee leaving announcers questioning why teams put more effort into stopping the disrespect than stopping defeat.
