Rema Announces ‘Heis World Tour’: Madison Square Garden and More

Afrobeats continues its global takeover, and at the forefront is Rema, who has announced his Heis World Tour, marking another milestone in his rise. Spanning 23 dates across North America, Europe, Africa and Asia, the trek solidifies his position as one of Afrobeats’ leading forces, taking the genre to arenas worldwide.

The tour kicks off April 11 at the Edmonton Expo Centre in Alberta, Canada, before making its way to major venues, including Madison Square Garden, London’s O2 Arena, Paris’ Accor Arena, and a two-weekend debut at Coachella. The run will wrap on Aug. 1 at Dream Park Festival in Malmo, Sweden.

Rema’s influence has been felt far beyond his home country of Nigeria. Since breaking onto the scene in 2019, the 23-year-old has been instrumental in Afrobeats’ globalization, blending traditional African rhythms with contemporary pop, R&B and trap. His 2022 hit “Calm Down” became the highest-charting Afrobeats song in Billboard Hot 100 history, paving the way for the genre’s expansion into mainstream markets.

Heis, released in July via Mavin Global, Jonzing World and Interscope Records, has only further cemented his place in the movement. The 11-track project, featuring standout singles “Benin Boys” with Shallipopi and “War Machine” with Odumodublvck, earned Rema his first GRAMMY nomination for Best Global Music Album. Additionally, his latest single, “Baby (Is It a Crime),” which samples Sade’s 1985 classic “Is It a Crime”, showcases his ability to bridge generational sounds while keeping Afrobeats at the center of his artistry.

General on-sale Tickets for the Heis World Tour starts Thursday, Feb. 13, all at 10 a.m. local time. For full ticket details, visit Rema’s official website.
