‘Pop the Balloon LIVE’: Yvonne Orji Brings Love to Netflix

Pop the Balloon, the viral dating sensation so good it was parodied on SNL, is coming to Netflix. Pop the Balloon LIVE, hosted by Insecure alum Yvonne Orji, is guaranteed to be a must-watch live TV show.

“After playing the ‘unlucky in love’ Molly Carter for five seasons on Insecure, I know a thing or two about looking for love in a hopeless place. Hopefully, the singles on Pop The Balloon LIVE will have much more success,” Orji stated. “As host, I’m looking forward to striking that delicate balance of heart and humor for our daters and the Netflix audience at home.”

Building upon the viral sensation of the original “Pop the Balloon or Find Love” digital series, this reimagined live format elevates the stakes. There will be unexpected twists and surprise celebrity appearances. But the undeniable draw of the show will be its real-time eliminations and potential authentic romantic connections as singles watch their balloons stay intact or get deflated. The show will feature a mix of everyday contestants and reality celebrity talent, including Too Hot to Handle‘s Chase DeMoor and The Ultimatium‘s Zaina Sesay.

Phoenix-based married couple, Arlette Amuli and Bolia Matundu, who created the initial digital series that’s amassed over 50 million views online, are serving as executive producers. “We’re thrilled to see Pop the Balloon take on a new life on Netflix. From day one, we’ve kept love and fun at the heart of the show, and watching it evolve and soar beyond our wildest dreams has been truly exciting.”

Added Orji, “It’s really great to see BM and Arlette’s vision expand to this version, due to their creativity, consistency and desire for more connection.”

Pop The Balloon LIVE premieres on April 10 exclusively on Netflix.
