Accessories can truly be the MVP of any outfit. I’m always making sure my shoes are fire—whether a sleek loafer or fun slip-on—but my bags? Sometimes they get left out of the party. But for New York Fashion Week (NYFW) this season, I knew I’d be running around all day and night, from shows to previews to after-parties, so I had to keep the essentials close. We’re talking iPhone charger, portable charger, deodorant (because, of course), cologne, gum (necessary), and sometimes even my work laptop.
This time, it wasn’t just about the function—I needed to bring some fun with my bags. I wanted them to be more than just something to carry my stuff; they had to add some flair to my looks. So, I reached for bags that had that extra pop of color, texture or shape to keep things interesting.
My love for bold accessories goes way back to my Teen VOGUE days. I started my fashion career in the accessories closet, and ever since then, color has been my thing. Twelve years later, that vibe is still going strong in my wardrobe. Stylish clothing, vibrant shoes, eye-catching pieces—they’re all a part of my style DNA now. Fashion week was the perfect time to show that off, one bag at a time.
After all, why let your shoes have all the fun? Check out and shop my NYFW bags below.
Louis Vuitton
I love everything that Pharrell is doing at Louis Vuitton, especially the accessories. I couldn’t wait to get my hands on a speedy bag. I may even wear it through fall and winter.
Prada
It rained a little this day but I didn’t have to worry about this Prada bag getting wet since it’s nylon. It can be worn around the waist which I usually do but this season I carried it like a shoulder bag because I had my whole life inside of it.
Marni
Some bags are for decoration and this Marni bag was the perfect conversation starter when running into my friends in the NYFW streets.
Issey Miyake
Carrying my computer around to shows isn’t fun or ideal but this Issey Miyake bag is chic and hides my computer just enough to show the girls I’m a serious digital editor but I’m also a fashion boy.
