Reneilwe Morema reports on the non-profit organisation called ”WOMEN FOR CHANGE” launching a petition to cancel Chris Brown’s upcoming concert in South Africa this December, because it believes it would be an insult to South Africa’s fight against gender-based violence and femicide. This is due to Chris Brown’s abusive past, with him having been convicted for assaulting then-Girlfriend Rihanna and other allegations of abuse.
Women For change has received support from many with over 5000 signatures, however there are others who believe that this petition is unnecessary. They argue that he has served his time and has been forgiven by his victims.
