The Langston Hughes Performing Arts Center is a community theater in the heart of Seattle, WA.. It’s most popular program is the LHPAC SUMMER MUSICAL in which 30-60 teenagers perform in a full-out musical production. I’ve been the Musical Director for the last 3 years and it’s one of the joys of my life !!! This year’s show was “BoBos” and I wrote 16 songs for the show (scored by Kenny Mahone). This is a song called ” Never Seen My Dream” and it finds members of opposing gangs (Autobots & Skooleys) back at thier hideouts after a gun fight takes a life. The question posed is ” how long can this last?” and in song they confess (to themselves) that this is really not what’s up … not the dream they had in mind.
Have your say!
