Like Diddy, following the leaked footage that corroborates an ex’s accusations of abuse, Jonathan Majors emphasized self-improvement. For Majors, the resurfaced audio comes during a career comeback after his conviction for assault and harassment of Jabarri. In an interview with Complex, the Creed III star reflects on the revelation about his admitted “aggression” towards Grace Jabbari. Majors “can’t speak to” the recording or the incident itself, but claims he’s a work in progress.

“I was so grateful that I had done my work, you know? And I’m continuing to do my work. Because, I mean, I can’t speak to it. But obviously—because you’re talking about it. There were vibrations, you know? Reverberations. Same as everything before, you know? But I was just—I was happy I’d done my work, you know? I was happy I had done my work,” Majors responded.

Following the misdemeanor assault and harassment convictions, Majors was sentenced to probation and completion of a 52-week domestic violence intervention program.

Majors avoids discussing any details about the incident, which Jabbari described in a now-settled civil suit as him allegedly throwing her onto the hood of a car, dragging her back inside their home, and banging her “head against the marble floor while strangling her until she felt she could no longer breathe.”

As BOSSIP previously reported, audio of Majors’ shocking admission that he “strangled” and “pushed” Jabbari took place after a fight in September 2022. At the time, the former couple lived in London while he filmed season 2 of Loki for Disney+.

“I’m ashamed I’ve ever— ” Majors begins, before cutting himself off. “I’ve never [been] aggressive with a woman before. I’ve never aggressed a woman — I aggressed you.”

“You strangled me and pushed me against the car,” Jabbari clarifies, which Majors does not deny.

“Yes, all those things are under ‘aggressed,’ yeah.” He responds. “That’s never happened to me.”

“Because I said something sarcastically, in your eyes?” Jabbari asks of his reasoning.

“Well clearly, it’s more than that,” Majors says.

“Something inside of you,” Jabbari responds.

“Yeah, towards you,” Majors adds before the recording ends, according to Rolling Stone.

According to Jabbari’s defamation lawsuit, even after the conviction, “Majors has called her a liar at every turn and very specifically claimed that he has never put his hands on a woman.”

While Majors says he can’t discuss that situation, he reflected on The Sherri Show about clinging to God and his love with his new wife, Meagan Good. “I feel different, and I love the man I am now,” he explained on the show.

Majors wasn’t the only one to take major losses in the fallout of his trial and conviction. He recently revealed that Good’s public support of Majors lost an endorsement deal. “They weren’t announcing it, but she lost endorsements,” Majors said, according to The Grio. “We got uninvited to stuff. She got uninvited to stuff because she had shown just how down she was, and they knew if Meagan’s coming, J’s coming.”
