Joe McDermott, lifelong West Seattleite and chair of the King County Council, invites you to “The Ship Sails Again: Four Screens, Four Eras,” the grand reopening celebration for the Historic Admiral Theater in West Seattle. The event is Wednesday, March 22, with keepsake postcard distribution starting at 5 p.m., a ribbon (film!)-cutting ceremony at 5:30 p.m. and four eras of films playing at 6:20, 6:30, 6:40 and 6:50 p.m., with repeat showings at 8:40, 8:50, 9 and 9:10 p.m. The Southwest Seattle Historical Society secured Seattle landmark status for the Historic Admiral Theater in 1989.
