Rihanna has RIH-turned to her clapback queen roots after being criticized for telling fans that they can “protect p***ies” [seemingly referencing Kamala Harris] and “fire p***ies” [seemingly referencing Donald Trump] in today’s 2024 Presidential election.
On Monday, Nov. 4, the 36-year-old songstress playfully posted an Instagram Reel of herself gazing out of a car window that read;
“POV: me trying to sneak into the polls with my son’s passport #VoteCauseICant.”
The post was captioned;
“When protecting p***ies and firing p***ies can happen all in one vote,” along with #votecauseicant and #TanSuitSeason.
Rihanna, who was born in Barbados and heralded as one of eleven national heroes in the country, moved to the U.S. in 2005. She still hasn’t changed her citizenship, so even though her sons, RZA, 2, and Riot Rose, 14 months, are U.S. citizens, she’s on the sidelines of American elections.
Naturally, people had a lot to say in Rihanna’s comments section, and luckily for us, the Rihanna we RIH-member from the early days of Twitter clocked in.
“Shut up Karen,” said Rih to a critic who suggested she be arrested for trying to illegally vote. “I LOVE my Bajan passport,” added Rih to another who suggested she could’ve voted as a migrant and alleged she was “rejected by the system.

In arguably the most epic of her clapbacks, Rihanna responded to a detractor who told her to “stick to music” while referencing the border.
“Where were you in Jan 6 sis?” wrote Rih. “Stick to your discounted crotch. We out here fighting for its rights!”
We loooove when clapback queen Rih clocks in!
Rihanna Spoke Out About The 2016 & 2024 Presidential Elections
This isn’t the first time Rihanna has spoken out during election season.
Back in 2016, she famously rocked a Hillary Clinton crewneck, even though she couldn’t vote, and later took it up a notch with a shirt featuring herself wearing the Hillary tee, captioned “I’m with her—and her.”
The shirts caught the eye of the Democratic nominee herself.
In 2020 when she supported Joe Biden, Rih tweeted “Count every vote” and “We’ll wait” to those trying to speed up the tally.
TheDailyBeast reports that she even warned Trump’s team to keep her music off his rally playlists, serving him a cease-and-desist after hearing “Don’t Stop The Music” was blasted at one of his events. And when he lost, she came through Twitter with a legendary pic of her holding two trash bags, captioned “just here to help” with the hashtag #wediditjoe.
Now, as the 2024 election heats up, Rihanna’s urging fans to use their voice where she can’t; in the way only she can.
