Fashion in Full Bloom

Let’s talk about the real star of this journey—London Fashion Week itself. Fashion influencers, content creators and editors from all over the world gather here for a week of runway buzz. I was lucky to attend the Spring/Summer 2025 shows, where Black-owned brands truly shone. Ahluwalia wowed with bold prints and striking silhouettes, while Nuba, featured in London’s Fashion East incubator program, showcased fresh, innovative designs that left me inspired. And let’s not forget the ever-iconic Richard Quinn, one of the most coveted tickets of the season. Picture this: supermodel Jourdan Dunn owning the runway, and rapper Saweetie slaying in the front row—London Fashion Week doesn’t get better than that.

Erdem took things to the next level, debuting its collection at the British Museum, blending masculine and feminine styles seamlessly. Every show had its own magic, but the real charm was seeing the influence of diverse cultures on the runway, which made me feel right at home.

Living Like Royalty

Now, where to stay while you’re living your best life in London? The answer is simple: Four Seasons Hotel London at Park Lane. This five-star gem is luxury at its finest. I checked into the newly renovated Hyde Park Suite—imagine a plush, spa-like bathroom, a living room that’s perfect for hosting a fashionable soirée and a king-size bed that wraps you up like a warm hug after a long day. The central location couldn’t have been more perfect. I strolled over to Buckingham Palace, indulged in some retail therapy at Harrods and even paid a visit to Rihanna’s Fenty Hair Pop-Up at Selfridges—truly a queen’s itinerary.

Michelin Dining & Vibes

Food is life, and the Michelin-starred Pavyllon restaurant at Park Lane delivered on every level. I dined on wild seabass aiguillette, prepared to perfection with an Asian twist, and chatted with the head chef, Will, who walked me through the seasonal menu. The whole experience, from the dish to the ambiance, was unforgettable. Before dinner, I sipped on an aperitif at their chic cocktail bar, Antoine. Trust me—this was a meal fit for royalty.

Navigating London Like a Local

When it comes to getting around, the Tube is your best friend. It’s London’s version of the subway, and it’s as fast-paced as New York’s. Between shows, I hopped from place to place effortlessly, soaking in the city’s vibrant hustle and bustle.

London Fashion Week was an unforgettable experience, full of fashion, food, and a whole lot of fun. Trust me—every Black woman deserves to feel this level of fabulous.
