The Grandeur of The Kentucky Gentleman

In the heart of Nashville, where music dreams are spun into reality, a dynamic twin-brother duo, Brandon and Derek Campbell, redefine country music’s boundaries. Hailing from the quaint town of Versailles, Kentucky, these two are not just musicians but storytellers, fashion icons, and cultural ambassadors. With their latest single, “Country Hymn,” the brothers invite you to step into their world, where self-acceptance and community reign supreme.

Growing up in a small town, the Kentucky Gentlemen found their voice within the rolling hills and horse farms of Woodford County. “There’s something about realizing that you really know yourself—[it’s full] acceptance,” they shared, reflecting on how their unique definition of happiness set them apart. “Our definition of happiness is just different from others. And when we realized that part of that definition was doing our own thing and doing it together, everything changed.”

Their journey from ballet and music majors at Indiana University and Chicago, respectively, to Nashville’s radiant music scene is a testament to their relentless pursuit of authenticity. “We just weren’t happy,” they admitted, looking back on their early days. But now, with their soulful blend of country and R&B, they are ready to take the world by storm.

As they gear up for EBONY’s upcoming Sensory Soiree in April 2025, The Kentucky Gentlemen are set to bring a piece of Kentucky to Detroit. “We’re bringing a piece of us there that I think honestly no one has seen before,” Derrick said, promising a sensory experience that celebrates Kentucky’s rich culture and spirit.

For The Kentucky Gentlemen, their home state is more than just a backdrop; it’s a living, breathing part of their identity. “The Derby and our family…it’s like summer Christmas,” they exclaimed. “It’s our culture, and it’s truly like it’s on my sleeve at all times.” From the thoroughbred spirit they carry into every room to their deep-rooted love for Kentucky bourbon, their connection to their roots is undeniable.

So much so, that they often find themselves heading back home to shoot music videos. As they put it, “A lot of stuff we film, we go home for it, you know? Like some videos we do, we [feel like] I’m riding a horse in Kentucky on this one, baby.”

With 2025 declared by the duo as the year of The Kentucky Gentlemen, they are ready to make waves in the music industry. “We do not believe in minimalism. The bigger, the better, the more,” they asserted, as their combined vision reaches beyond music. They aim to bring back the importance of music videos, creating visual experiences that complement their soulful sound. As they prepare to promote “Country Hymn,” The Kentucky Gentlemen are excited to explore collaborations beyond genres. “The world is a big place, and we’re all blended,” they said. “Stay tuned.”

In a time where music is an experience, The Kentucky Gentlemen are here to guarantee that every note, every lyric and every performance is a reflection of their vibrant, unapologetic selves. As they take the stage at the Sensory Soiree, they invite you to join them on this exhilarating journey—one that promises to be as cool and exciting as the duo themselves.
