The night reached its peak when cultural icon Kesha took the stage for a surprise performance, igniting the crowd with high-energy renditions of “Joyride,” “Blow,” “Tik Tok” and “Your Love Is My Drug.”

Woodford Reserve kicked off NYFW with Sergio Hudson at Studio 525, celebrating the national launch of their Double Double Oaked whiskey alongside guests like Muni Long, Marina Nery, Anifa Mvuemba, Nyakio Grieco and Master Distiller Elizabeth McCall. With curated cocktails, DJ sets by Angel & Dren, and an electric atmosphere, the event set the stage for Hudson’s runway show while marking an ongoing partnership between the fashion designer and the whiskey maker.

Actor, director and producer David Oyelowo led a short film tutorial for Leadership Scholars at the Creative Arts Summit at The Nike Lake Resort in Enugu, a major city in southeast Nigeria. He partnered with The GEANCO Foundation, a surgical organization that saves and transforms lives in Africa through a system of modern, solar-powered rural family clinics, helping safely deliver healthy babies, vaccinate infants and provide high-quality care to men and boys. The David Oyelowo Leadership Scholarship for Girls provides full tuition, healthcare, leadership training, STEM education and mental and menstrual health support to young female survivors of terrorism and gender inequality in Nigeria. There are currently 44 scholars attending four schools throughout Nigeria.

The stars of Disney+’s Harlem Ice attended a private preview and community celebration of the new original docuseries at the historic Apollo Theater. Highlighting the moving stories of the coaches and girls of Figure Skating in Harlem, it’s the only organization in the world for under-resourced girls that combines the power of education with access to the artistic discipline of figure skating.
