“AAAMC Speaks” is an IU documentary series that centers the legacy of the Black music community and highlights a wealth of materials available within Indiana University’s Archives of African American Music & Culture (AAAMC). In each roughly 20-minute episode, AAAMC director Tyron Cooper interviews one pioneer or current industry professional whose work is connected to holdings at the archives.
The documentary format was selected for this series to help bring the archives alive; audiences will be encouraged to engage with the collection, which includes audio recordings, photos, video footage, and other media focused on Black music and creativity.
