A livestream gala and auction in support of Washington Park Arboretum, Seattle, THE ART OF NATURE took place from 6 to 7 p.m. on February 10, 2022. (To skip the pre-show slide presentation and see the live studio show, fast forward to 28.40 minutes.)
The event celebrated the art and beauty of the Arboretum—in the design of its landscape and gardens—and explored how nature in this special place inspires artists, visitors, and students to create in myriad ways, enhancing our shared community.
Viewers were introduced to special guest artists such as Gerard Tsutakawa, who is recreating the beloved Memorial Gates, stolen from the Arboretum and destroyed at the start of the pandemic. And large-sculpture artist John Grade, who is creating a new installation for the Arboretum, to be unveiled in 2023.
The event raised more than $310,000 in support of core horticulture, environmental education, and volunteer programs at the Arboretum, and cultural programs at the Seattle Japanese Garden.
THANKS to everyone who made the event possible: our sponsors, auction donors, event committee, video participants, photographers and videographers, artists, and studio hosts, plus our production team at PNTA/Seattle Lives.
