MARINA CHRISTOPHER is a rising star in the Seattle jazz scene. Named as Earshot Jazz Magazine’s Emerging Artist of 2017, her style of jazz enthusiastically embraces the genre while blending in the music of R&B and pop. A native Seattleite, Marina grew up listening to her father playing jazz and boogie woogie on the piano. She began playing the electric bass at 11 and took up the upright bass at 12. Marina earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Classical Double Bass Performance from Central Washington University, where she studied with Jon Hamar. Marina is a founding member of the Mo Jam Mondays at the Nectar Lounge, has worked in the orchestra of Royal Caribbean cruise ships, is an established artist at SeaTac Airport, is a staple in the Seattle music scene headlining in many regional venues and has toured extensively.
