Gladiator II‘s Denzel Washington posed with his wife Pauletta on the red carpet of the film’s premiere at TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, California. Washington stars as Macrinus, a former gladiator who will stop at nothing to rise to ultimate power.
Sunny Hostin joined her Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. sisters, Comcast NBCUniversal and Xfinity for an exclusive Universal Pictures’ Wicked screening and a fireside chat with actress and honorary AKA member Cynthia Erivo. Held in New York City, Erivo shared that “A lot of Black women understand walking into a room and being the only one,” noting how Elphaba deals with this very feeling. “The one thing I know about us [as Black women] is if people don’t make the space, we have to take the space.”
Tyler Perry, Kerry Washington and Ebony Obsidian, the creatives and cast of The Six Triple Eight, bowed their heads at Arlington National Cemetery to honor the legacy of the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion. They laid flowers at some of the 6888 members’ graves, presented a wreath in their honor to the Tomb of the Unknown Solider and observed the Changing of the Guard. Later that evening, Netflix hosted a special screening of the upcoming film at the Oprah Winfrey Theater at the National Museum of African American History and Culture.
