EBONY Exclusive! Jonathan Majors Sheds Tears Over Fiancée Megan Good Saying ‘Yes’ to Engagement

Jonathan Majors didn’t hold back the tears of joy when talking about his newly minted fiancée, Harlem star Megan Good. The couple announced their engagement exclusively to EBONY on the green carpet of our EBONY Power 100 Gala on November 17. He then shared how much “his beloved” means to him.

“Life is crazy—I’m crying to you—she is the most perfect, beautiful, divine [and] powerful being that I’ve ever met,” he gushed to EBONY in an exclusive interview in the gala’s portrait gallery.

“The fact that she said I’m gonna run with you, I’m with it. I feel great.”

The engagement announcement completes a full-circle moment for the couple who met at the EBONY Power 100 Gala two years ago in 2022. First romantically linked in May 2023, they solidified their relationship as he battled legal challenges from a former relationship.

The two publicly acknowledged their coupledom for the first time in September 2023. In a speech at the Congressional Black Caucus’ eighth annual Black and White Gala together, Majors called her “the missus.” They hit the red carpet for the first time at the 7th annual African American Film Critics Association (AAFCA) Special Achievement Awards Luncheon in Los Angeles in early 2024.

Majors shared how being back at EBONY Power 100 feels like home. “We move the culture, the people in the room, always have,” he stated. “When we all get together, oh boy… [It’s] living in the power of our people, culture and art.”

Since 1971, EBONY Power 100 has evolved from EBONY magazine’s “Most Influential Black Americans List” into a celebrated symbol of Black expression and cultural impact. This year’s awardees included leaders in several categories, including the newly added Music Innovators.
