Footage of Jaxson Hayes’s 2021 domestic violence incident surfaces online prompting the NBA to re-open the investigation.
In July of 2021, Lakers big man Jaxson Hayes was arrested after a bizarre brawl with the Los Angeles police department. At the time his behavior when the police arrived overshadowed the reason they were dispatched in the first place. Later it was revealed police were called for domestic disturbance however Hayes allegedly began the scuffle after refusing entry into the home.
Later Hayes’s ex-girlfriend Sofia Jamora sued the baller alleging domestic abuse and false imprisonment. The lawsuit seemingly confirmed the suspicion of domestic violence and LAPD would follow up eventually charging Jaxson with 12 misdemeanors.
According to TMZ, the NBA is re-opening its investigation after new footage surfaced of Sofia being verbally and physically abused by Jaxson.
“I’m not going to let you hit me anymore. What the f*** do I look like, a punching bag?”- Sofia Jamora says in the newly released video.
Another part of the video shows Hayes pulling her out of a doorway while she pleads “Stop. Let go of me” while Hayes questions, “What the f**k is wrong with you?”
ESPN reports that Jamora filed new litigation this week alleging that the officer Hayes fought in 2021 was “compensated monetarily by Hayes for unknown reasons.”
Jaxson was sentenced to three years probation, domestic violence classes, and 450 hours of community service.
