Flag on the play! Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson is in his feelings after his breakup with Sharelle Rosado, and he recently made that emphatically clear.
As previously reported, after some veiled hints at a possible split, Sharelle Rosado took to X on October 26 to announce that she and Ochocinco were back on the market.
“Chad and I are no longer together please stop tagging us. He is a free man ladies,” she said.
The former NFL star reposted the announcement with a sad meme, but would later share his real feelings during an episode of Night Cap alongside his co-host, Shannon Sharpe.
After asking Uncle Shay Shay to run interference between the two to get them back on track, Ochocinco shared that he was taken aback by Rosado’s decision to make it social media official.
“You ain’t had to be so public, and you might be watching,” he said.
He also revealed that he’s currently blocked from communicating with Rosado and hasn’t spoken to her about reconciling.
“There’s no point in touching the stove if it’s still hot. I got to let the stove cool down,” he added.
The pair have been engaged for a little over a year and welcomed their daughter, Serenity, in 2022.
In 2023, Johnson proposed to Rosado in front of family and friends in Miami with a 7.5-carat ring, according to PEOPLE.
“I’m honestly shocked! I’m at a loss for words. This was absolutely beautiful and to see my family and friends here to celebrate our love, that really did it for me,” said Rosado at the time.
She continued and told PEOPLE that her engagement to Johnson was “the next step of our beautiful journey together.”
“I’m so emotional because when we first started dating, he used to always tell me, ‘I’m going to make you my wife,’ ” said Rosado. “Although in my heart I knew we were always meant to be, now that it’s official, it’s even more special than I could have ever dreamed.”
Neither Sharelle Rosado nor Chad Johnson have confirmed what led to their split.
