After two years behind bars, Young Thug has accepted a plea deal in his YSL Rico case ending the longest trial in Fulton County history.
Young Thug can finally put his YSL RICO Case behind him after changing his plea to guilty.
After failing to agree on a deal with the prosecution, Superior Court Judge Paige Whitaker offered a non-negotiated plea deal.
Young Thug was near a plea deal that would have released him from jail today on 15 years probation.
But they couldn’t agree on his release conditions, and now prosecutors are recommending 25 years in prison. pic.twitter.com/PiKidTckzM

Seemingly the trial was headed for a mistrial without prejudice leaving the state to try the case again. The non-negotiated plea deal avoids a retrial however, while allowing Judge Whitaker to decide his punishment.

As both sides returned to court for the non-negotiated plea deal the prosecution suggested Thug serve 45 years with 25 behind bars, a complete turnaround from offering the possibility of regaining his freedom today with 10 years probation. Before ending their argument on the 25-year sentence, the prosecution tried to have the mother of Donovan “Nut” Thomas” read a statement.

Judge Whitaker denied the impact statement being read pointing out the prosecution dropped murder charges on other defendants. The judge also reminded the courtroom that Young Thug wasn’t on trial for the murder. Thug’s lawyer Brian Steel then spoke to the courtroom disputing several allegations made by the prosecution and said he told the rapper he believed they would eventually win the case if it went the distance.
Steel said however that the rapper refused to continue and wanted the trial to end so he could get home to his kids.
