Chris Rock made us nostalgic for the eighties when his biographic series Everybody Hates Chris dropped in 2005. Proving you can go home again, the series has been resurrected in the highly anticipated adult animated series Everybody Still Hates Chris, premiering tonight on Comedy Central.
Everybody Still Hates Chris features Rock as “Adult Chris,” who once again narrates stories inspired by his experience growing up in a large working-class family in Brooklyn, New York, during the late 1980s. The new series reunites us with Terry Crews and Tichina Arnold, who originally played Chris’ father and mother, Julius and Rochelle, on the live-action sitcom.

“We got a lot of inquiries about doing it in animation. I’ve had a lot of success in animation with Madagascar and Osmosis Jones. The network approached me about doing Everybody Hates Chris as an animated series, and we gave it some thought,” said Rock, who also executive produces the series. His mind immediately went to the series’ original cast. “Can we still get Terry and Tichina? Because I wouldn’t do anything without them. It seemed like we could make something fresh and funny.”
Rounding out the cast are Tim Johnson Jr., Ozioma Akagha and Terrence Little Gardenhigh, who voice Young Chris, younger sister Tonya and Drew, Chris’ younger, perfect brother, respectively.
The series also boasts a celebrity guest cast roster that includes Tisha Campbell, Bell Biv DeVoe, Ayo Edebiri, Busta Rhymes and more.
Everybody Still Hates Chris premieres Wednesday, September 25, on Comedy Central.
