Seattle is home to a growing number of talented African American artists. For them, a continuing frustration has been the struggle to find galleries that will display the work of artists who’ve never shown before. That may be changing with the opening of ARTE NOIR, a new gallery and retail space in the Central District designed to showcase Black artists. Unlike other venues that focus on making money, ARTE NOIR is a nonprofit where all artists will receive 100 percent of the net proceeds on the sale of their work. Nicole Sanchez has much more.
